Clock Offset

gave Frank Introduction

1. reduce lats and longs using new clock offset
2. create before offset by using min residual - no residual over 10ish
3. iterate until equation for line of best fit doesn't change
   

Outline of Report

Went through outline of report with Frank today.

need to remember to:

1. Place UT onto latitude sheets;
2. change RA and dec to UT times for both latitudes and longitudes; and
   
3. plot clock error.

Have worked on introduction, and a bit of background for Celestial Navigation.

Update

Finished the checks of calculations. Still have a few sheets that need extra work. Other than that, clock offset (from GMT) has been modelled, and writing is the most important thing in my life....

Introduction

Wrote 845 words for background on the weekend. hope to have introduction finished by the weekend, as well as the start of methodology.

• check weighting of means - weight matrix from sum of squares of residuals, least squares equation is : [X = ((AtV-1A).(AtV-1M)-1)]

• Fixed Latitudes Mar 6 Camp 19R (CV) need to get better right ascension and declination for this observation (do tonight)

• Need to still do calcs on Mar 7 _ Jupiter.

• get frank to look at erroneous spreadsheets this week (if he has a chance)

• moons limb observations? - treat same way as sunshots, use semi-diameter.

• finish longitude readings from latitude observations (off corrella river)

• graph clock error
